It is hard to imagine that you can transform a sad and empty warehouse, which seems to echo with the need to be used and filled with joy, to one that is full of love, happy voices and brightly coloured shoeboxes.
Well, that is exactly what a team of dedicated and enthusiastic volunteers can and will do.
Friday 9th November 2012 saw the start of this warehouse transformation. Working to an earlier devised plan, tables were set out, areas marked out, posters displayed, training tables arranged and of course the all important kitchen area, where very welcome tea and coffee breaks will be enjoyed, was organised.
Vans have been hired for collections, and heaters too, which have been most welcome in previous years when we have had some very cold weather.
The fillers which we use to make sure every box is a fair box are bought, collected or made throughout the year by volunteers or donated, these will "wow" you and over the course of the coming weeks you will see some spectacular examples.
By the end of the day the warehouse is transformed...... no longer empty.....no longer echoing but organised and colourful, just waiting for all our volunteers to arrive on Monday to carry out the most important job of all....collecting, checking and packing boxes to change that one life that so desperately needs to know that he or she is not forgotten and that God does love them.
