From The Bear Garden to Kyrgyzstan with love

Who remembers Crispin from last year?

Crispin was the teddy bear kindly donated to us by The Bear Garden, Jefferies Passage, Guildford. By guessing the teddy's name we raised £100 which went towards more shoeboxes reaching children who would otherwise not receive a gift.

For those who don't know about our teddy, he does not go into a shoebox. Once Crispin had been given his name he was entrusted to Christine Cottrell-Smith who was travelling out to Kyrgyzstan to help distribute the shoeboxes, Christine had the honour and responsibility of finding a child who would love and treasure such a special gift, a worthy home for Crispin.

We'd like to introduce you to......   Well we don't know yet that is up to you to guess. Because again this year the Bear Garden has donated another bear and of course we want you to have a go at guessing his name.

He is beautiful, soft and cuddly...... That has been well tested by some of our volunteers as we cannot send out a teddy who is not totally lovable, he definitely is!!!

We would like to say a big thank you to The Bear Garden for such a generous gift, Christine, Carolyn Gercke and Jenny Winter happily went to the shop and received the new bear. Whilst we love our new bear we were all struck with how many beautiful cuddly toys there were in the shop of all shapes, sizes and colours, some collectables too. It is a fabulous shop and if you are in Guildford do pop in or visit them at www.beargarden.co.uk

This year Jenny Winter will have the responsibility of taking him to Kyrgyzstan and finding that very special child and home for him.........what ever his name is. But, of course, we will know it by then and one lucky person will know that they chose the correct name out of so many choices.

You will see plenty of Ted over the next three weeks as he meets our volunteers, takes part in all the events, helps to check shoe boxes and looks over our crafts.
